OAUG Fusion Council Hosts Next-Generation Applications User Experience Overview at Oracle OpenWorld 2009

During Oracle OpenWorld 2009, the OAUG Fusion Council hosted an energetic session where participants had the opportunity to find out what the Oracle Next Generation User Experience is all about and why Oracle customers should be interested.

Oracle has invested a significant amount of time and effort into studying how customers actually perform their work, both in the real world and in a work-lab environment. As a result, Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle Fusion Applications have been built specifically to accommodate and cater to users’ needs.

This user-focused development approach — from the early stages of design to the final product release — aims to help users improve productivity and increase the value derived from their investments in Oracle products.

The OAUG Fusion Council session at Oracle OpenWorld 2009 was presented by Floyd Teter, project manager, Jet Propulsion Laboratory and OAUG Fusion Council Co-Chair; Jeremy Ashley, Vice President Applications User Experience, Oracle; and Katie Candland, Director Applications User Experience, Oracle.*

Refer to Floyd Teter’s blog for a first-hand account of his experiences participating in a series of user-experience sessions and Fusion Applications user validation testing. Also, refer to the Oracle Applications User Experience Web site for more information.

* The presenters of the OAUG Fusion Council session at OpenWorld talk more about the importance of user experience in laying the foundation for Oracle’s next-generation products.
