I will appreciate if you can explain the steps how you have done this..

Using the xml option looks bit difficult, since we need to ask the user
to copy the output and then calling that in the XML publisher is bit
risky..

Guys,
 
It is not necessary that you have to use XML Publisher to get the images
in your report output. We are on 11.5.9 and use Reports 6i and directly
use the images in report margin section to print the company logos in
whichever report required. We print the reports either in PDF or
postscript.
