OAUG Statement on OAUG Conferences vs. Oracle AppsWorld

The Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG) is the premier worldwide representative organisation for users of Oracle's suite of business applications. Being run entirely by users, for users, the OAUG is completely independent from Oracle Corporation. Membership in OAUG provides user companies with an ideal means of learning how other businesses make use of the Oracle Applications and of keeping in touch with new directions in the ongoing development of the Oracle Applications product line. In particular, with the agreement of Oracle Corporation, OAUG manages the entire worldwide user input to the Applications product enhancement process.

Since OAUG's establishment in 1990, our North American twice-yearly global conferences have become recognised by Oracle Applications user companies as the best-value educational and networking experience available anywhere. Attendance has consistently grown with each conference, with our Spring 2000 Conference in Philadelphia reaching just over 7,500 delegates!

Oracle Applications Users from all over the world return time after time to our conferences at critical points in the lifecycle of their use of the Applications products - pre-procurement, implementation, and upgrade - to benefit from the experience of those who have gone before.

Until 1997, the only way to benefit from the OAUG conference experience was to attend a conference in North America. Now, as a result of the success of the first three European OAUG Conferences held in Cannes, Barcelona, and Disneyland Paris, a fourth European conference has been scheduled and the venue selected. We invite you to come and experience the benefits of being part of the OAUG community when we hold our fourth conference at the Palexpo Exhibition & Conference Centre in Geneva, Switzerland 20-23 March 2001. Plan now to share your knowledge, discoveries, solutions, and successes with us in 2001. Discuss with us the realities of process re-engineering, training, implementation, and upgrades. Discuss with users and Oracle experts how best to deal with European issues such as the euro, local legal requirements, and languages. You, the Oracle Applications user community, are the focus of our conferences, which give you the opportunity to share knowledge and experience and solve your issues. Start planning your participation now!
