• Accounts Payable SIG

  The OAUG Accounts Payable SIG’s presentation will be analyzing and optimizing AP Business Performance with Imaging and Workflow. Topics will include discount Capture Maximization and Management, financial accounting and reporting, fraud detection (audit compliance and controls), and organizational and operational performance.

• Aerospace & Defense SIG

  The OAUG Aerospace and Defense SIG (A&D SIG) is an industry forum for users to network and discuss issues related to Oracle software applications/tools for meeting requirements unique to A&D. The A&D SIG’s focus spans multiple Oracle modules. The SIG continues to develop its membership across multiple A&D companies. Recent activity includes expansion of our board to cover more activities, collaborate with other SIGs and work with Oracle on several specific A&D issues for future product enhancements. The session will include updates on these definitions, next steps and the SIG’s progress to date.

• Archive and Purge SIG

  Please join the OAUG Archive and Purge SIG for the latest information on Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and archiving, and best practices of functional retention policies. One presenter will discuss how they stayed within SOX compliance and archived data, which was necessary to improve application performance. Another presenter will discuss best practices of functional retention when it comes to archiving and purging data from Oracle Applications.

• Assets SIG

  Join the OAUG Customization & Extension SIG as we welcome Syme Kutz, Oracle Architect for Database Tools, for an introduction to Oracle SQL Developer (formerly Project Raptor). With SQL Developer, you can manage objects in Oracle databases. You can browse, create, edit, and delete (drop) database objects; create, edit, and debug SQL statements and PL/SQL code; manipulate data; export and import database objects; and create reports. You can connect to any target Oracle database schema using standard Oracle database authentication. In this session, we introduce SQL Developer using demonstrations and show the SIG members the latest functionality.

  The OAUG Database SIG will conduct their annual elections during a short business meeting, which will be followed by a speaker from Oracle and a discussion panel.

  In addition, David Kurtz, the author of PeopleSoft for the Oracle DBA, and an active member of the UKOUG, will be speaking during the Database SIG meeting. He is also conducting a training session during the Quest Forum at COLLABORATE 06, which highlights a better understanding of the underlying infrastructure of PeopleSoft Enterprise systems.

• Discrete Manufacturing SIG

  The OAUG Discrete Manufacturing SIG is open to all users of Oracle Discrete Flow and Project Manufacturing. Modules covered include: Cost Management; BOM; WIP; Inventory; Quality Management; Shop Floor Manager; MES; and Manufacturing Scheduler. Presentations will include an R12 update and case study.

  The OAUG EDI SIG meeting will include an update from Oracle on product direction, presentations and discussion on integration, EDI and XML, followed by a Q&A session.

• Energy & Utilities SIG

  The OAUG Engineering & Construction SIG (E&C SIG) is newly formed and was affiliated in April of 2006 to represent Oracle Applications users in the E&C industry. It has established a charter to meet the following objectives: to provide a forum for sharing information and experiences on best practices and effective use of Oracle Applications suited for the E&C industry; to provide feedback from the user community to Oracle Corporation; to be a liaison for recommended enhancements and influence the future development direction of Oracle Applications specific to the E&C industry; and to promote the optimal implementation and configuration of Oracle Applications for the E&C industry through conferences, publications and electronic meeting places dedicated to the Oracle user community.

• Enterprise Asset Management SIG

• Federal SIG

  The OAUG Federal SIG is hosting a panel discussion with each of the Federal Centers of Excellence (COE). The COE’s will speak about their offerings, experiences and management of their Oracle Federal Financial Management systems. • Financial Services Industry SIG

  For users from companies in the financial services industry (banking insurance or capital markets) attending COLLABORATE 06, this session is the perfect primer into the user group dedicated to their specific needs. Whether you use the Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, OFSA or Siebel, if you are in the financial services industry (FSI) you must attend this session! This session will also give you insight into the special one-day FSI conference that will be held on Wednesday, April 26, during the conference.

  The Financial Services Industry SIG will also be hosing a one-day SIG conference.

  The OAUG K-12 Education SIG meeting will include: networking and introductions of districts attending the conference; the annual business meeting to review bylaws; receiving of nominations for open office positions; and a review of status updates of districts who have implemented or are in the process of implementing modules of the Oracle E-Business Suite. There will also be a networking opportunity with other districts on the varied uses of the Oracle database infrastructure.

• Logistics SIG

  Join the OAUG Middleware SIG, along with Nadia Bendjedou, Director Product Strategy, Applications Technology Group, Oracle Applications Development, and Ahmed Alomari, Senior Director, Applications Performance Group for Oracle Corporation, for an in-depth look at the Middleware components of the Oracle E-Business Suite. This session will provide information regarding 10g AS solutions for the E-Business Suite, including Identity Management Single Sign-on and Web Cache. • Multi-National/Multi Org SIG

  The OAUG Multi-National/Multi Org SIG is a multi-talented group that meets at various OAUG conferences and Oracle OpenWorld.   Please help us welcome the OAUG PeopleSoft Technology SIG for the first time at COLLABORATE 06. This SIGs mission is to provide a forum for exchanging information about using Oracle technology to support PeopleSoft applications. Our Oracle liaison has worked with us for two years, and will continue to provide us with a pipeline to learn about new developments of interest to PeopleSoft users while providing feedback from the SIG to Oracle. This year, Selim Burduroglu from Oracle’s Enterprise Architecture team will present and will conduct a Q&A session.

  Selim Burduroglu has 15 years of information systems technology experience in management, sales, services, strategy, and development within Higher Education industry. Selim was on-site at SMU with George Chrisman when the first ever gold CD of PeopleSoft Student Administration was delivered. At Oracle, Selim is one of only four Enterprise Architects within the Named and Strategic Accounts group and member of the Fusion Champions within North America.

• Process Manuafacturing SIG

• Time and Expense SIG

  The OAUG Time and Expense SIG was formed to address the special interests relevant to the Oracle Time and Labor, Oracle iTime and iExpense modules. Join us for a forum to exchange information tips and experiences, and to stay current about product enhancements.The Oracle Self-Service Applications are continually increasing in functionality and complexity, especially as Oracle product technologies evolve. Therefore, the focus of this SIG is to develop ongoing materials and programs via member participation to increase and expand the availability of resources for the iTime and iExpense products.

• Transportation-OTM SIG (formerly G-Log GC3)

  The OAUG Tutor SIG will provide a product and strategic overview of the Oracle Tutor product, as well as the User Productivity Kit (UPK). The UPK is a recent addition from PeopleSoft. We will discuss how these two products fit together, as well as answer any questions that users may have.

• Upgrade SIG

  The OAUG Upgrade SIG focuses on issues relating to upgrading Oracle Applications from Release 10.7 and 11.0.X to the lastest 11i and beyond. These issues include technology stack requirements, performance techniques, various upgrade tools, specific platform-related information, as well as current Oracle announcements on desupport and Fusion. Join us for an update on 10.7 de-support, Fusion and Q&A with an Oracle representative.

• Web Services SIG

  The OAUG Web Services SIG’s mission is to represent Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft and JD Edwards users worldwide who are interested in taking advantage of the potential of Web Services. Visit our Web site at wssig.oaug.org for more information about our SIG. Our meeting will feature the presentation “Web Services in Oracle Fusion Middleware” by Raqhu Kodali, Product Manager, Oracle Corporation. Oracle Fusion Middleware provides a complete platform for Web Services including tools, runtime, registry and several features that help to design, generate and publish services from wide variety of backend technologies. This session will provide information on how to design and publish Web Services from Oracle Fusion Middleware (10.1.3) release, that expose backend business logic stored in PL/SQL, Java, J2EE components using the latest Web Services standards including JAX-RPC, JSR-181 (Web Services Metadata) and REST. This session will also incorporate demos that will cut across both tools and runtime. Come and network with other users to share information and experiences using Web Services in an Oracle environment.
