OAUG Apps Forum 2006 — BrusselsThe OAUG, in partnership with the Belgium-Luxembourg Geographic Users Group, hosted members of the EMEA Oracle Applications community during OAUG Apps Forum 2006 on Thursday, February 16, in Brussels, Belgium. Highlights of the event included an opening keynote by Karsten Roigk, Vice President of Marketing Strategy and Sales Support, Oracle Corporation, EMEA. Roigk’s keynote provided attendees insight into Oracle’s Applications strategy, with a focus on three primary aspects: - Continuity: Customers need to understand that it is business as usual. Oracle is working on building the next release of applications, regardless of what product line a customer is running (E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft Enterprise or JD Edwards World, or EnterpriseOne). Each of these products will have major functionality enhancements and Oracle is committed to working with its customers as is further develops the next generation releases of these products.
- Clear vision: Oracle is working with its customers, the user community and strategic advisory boards in building one consolidated product line — Fusion.
- Customer value — today and tomorrow: Oracle will be delivering interoperability among existing product lines, while continuing to support its customers’ applications, ensuring they are successful in upgrading to each new release of the applications.
In addition to Roigk’s keynote, over 20 presentations and training sessions were conducted by Oracle Support and Consulting, and OAUG and BLOUG user members and partners. Track focus of these sessions included: Supply Chain, System Administration, Business Intelligence, Finance, Human Resources, Corporate Governance and CRM.
