Highlights from OAUG Connection Point 2003

 

The Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG), the world’s largest knowledgebase for Oracle® Applications users, held its annual conference, Connection Point, Sept. 14-17 in San Diego.

The event attracted more than 2,100 visitors and was sponsored by 90 vendors featuring products that enabled Oracle Applications users to further their knowledge, experience, and understanding of the applications they use.

Highlights of the conference included:

  • A question and answer session with Chuck Phillips, Oracle Corp.’s executive vice president;
  • A keynote address by Bill Hostmann, research director from Stamford, Conn.-based Gartner, Inc.;
  • More than 200 educational sessions and presentations; and
  • 14 Geographic User Group (Geo) meetings and 43 Special Interest Group (SIG) meetings.

Chuck Phillips offered perspective on Oracle’s recent efforts to acquire PeopleSoft at a Q&A session led by Art Hunt, OAUG president. Oracle Corporation also hosted several other sessions including ones by Cliff Godwin, senior vice president, Oracle Corporation on “Applications Development,” and Juan Jones, vice president service delivery management, Oracle Corporation on “Oracle Support Service: Evolving to Meet Customers Needs.”

The OAUG would like to thank all who attended Connection Point 2003 for four days of networking, education, professional development and hands-on training.
